Rechytsa resident given three years in prison for biting a policeman

A 30-year-old father of two children from Rechytsa attacked a police officer in an attempt to avoid the arrest.

The man had a quarrel with his wife before the incident. She called his parents, asked them to calm him down and went out, Homelskaya Prauda writes.

But the visit of the man's father and mother provoked another scandal. The police were called.

The drunk man tried to escape from two police officers and ran to the bedroom. He began to fight with one of them. The policemen and the man's father twisted his arms in the room.

As the man said at the trial, he couldn't tolerate pain and bit one of the policemen in the leg.

“He is charged with using violence against a police officer. This not a serious offence, but the man already has a criminal record for same offence, as well as for disorderly conduct and extortion. Moreover, he bit the policeman when he was drunk, which aggravates his offence,” deputy prosecutor of the Rechytsa district Mikalai Lasitsa said.

The man was sentenced to three years and two months in a maximum security correctional facility.
