Mirnyi out of Casablanca Open in first round

Max Mirnyi of Belarus paired for the first time with Morocco's Mehdi Jdi to lose 2-6, 4-6 to the Spanish duo of Nicolas Almagro and Guillermo Garcia-Lopez in the Casablanca Open round one.

The 37-year-old Belarusian opened the season in pair with Croatia's Ivan Dodig. They were seen off in the opener in Doha, Qatar, reached the semifinal in Memphis, the United States and lost in the quarterfinal in Delray Beach, the United States.

In Auckland, New Zealand Max Mirnyi teamed up with Brazil's Marcelo Melo to reach the semifinal. At the Australian Open in Melbourne the Belarusian paired with Spain's Feliciano Lopez to play in the quarterfinal. Max Mirnyi played just one match in Miami. In tandem with Victor Estrella Burgos of the Dominican Republic Max Mirnyi was a semifinalist in Mexico's Acapulco.

During his long professional career Max Mirnyi won 48 ATP doubles tournaments teaming up with different tennis players. His recent success (with Horia Tecau) was the victory at the tournament in Beijing in 2013.
