A majority of votes of Polish voters in Belarus cast in the presidential election were given for Bronislaw Komorowski.

Anna Derska, a spokesperson for the Embassy of Poland in Minsk, says that the presidential elections were held in Poland on May 10. Eleven candidates were on the ballot paper, BelaPAN reports.

211 Polish citizens voted in Belarus on May 10, including 89 in the embassy in Minsk, 84 in the consulate in Hrodna and 38 in the consulate in Brest, Derska says.

Current president Bronislaw Komorowski received 96 votes from Polish citizens in Belarus. Andrzej Duda has 74 votes, Pawel Kukiz – 23, Janusz Korwin-Mikke – 5, Adam Jarubas and Palikot have 2 votes each.

Exit polls results show current president Bronislaw Komorowski comes second after opposition candidate Andrzej Duda, though neither of politicians gained the required majority: Duda has almost 35%, Komorowski has 32%. Pawel Kukiz got 20% of votes, Janusz Korwin-Mikke – 4.4%, Magdalena Ogorek – 2.4%.

Official results of the elections are expected to be announced by the National Electoral Commission this evening and the turnout – Tuesday morning.

The second round of the presidential elections will be held on May 24.
