Belarus to settle with Russia from credit given by Moscow

$110 million received by Minsk from Russia in April are to be used to repay part of the debt to Moscow.

It was said by the Finance Minister of Belarus Uladzimir Amarin, TASS informs.

“They will agree to refinance the debt payments. It is a part of the country’s debt service payment in 2015,” he said.

We remind that on March 27 the government of Russia approved issuing a credit to Belarus in an amount of $110 million. The loan was granted in rubles.

In 2014 Russia gave Minsk about $2 billion in state loans. Besides, the government instructed to grant Minsk $10 billion for construction of the nuclear power station. In 2015 Belarus plans to pay more than $4 billion of its external debts. In total the country owes about $40 billion to creditors.
