FC “Gomel” football player: They owe us salary for 3 months of last year as well

Football players are not paid their salaries for 7.5 months already.

Pressball newspaper was told about that by a midfielder of “Gomel” Pavel Sitko.

- It seems that during the pre-season you have been seriously thinking about leaving the team. Why have you stayed?

- Yes, it’s true, I could have left. And even now I can do that easily. In any case, I do not think it would be a problem to find another club. But I had come to it for a reason! I wanted to return to my motherland very much, to try and play here. And I want to repeat, I saw that an ambitious team had gathered in “Gomel”. It’s a pity that finally my desires could not coincide with the opportunities… And the fact that I stayed, and what is happening here… I do not know how to answer this question properly. I cannot. I have some thoughts, but cannot find words to express them. Everyone knows what situation we have.

- Is everything really so bad?

- It is more than bad. Our money has not been paid for since the last three months of the previous year. Guys who have left the team went to court, everybody knows that as well. And some of them are still having legal proceedings. Those who have stayed in the team do not see any money. Four months of the new year have passed, and we do not get any money. Isn’t it bad? We vocalize our position naturally. But unfortunately, we do not see any effect.

- Who should show any effect primarily?

- How should I know? Football players should play, and not to think who owes them something…
