Indian President to visit Belarus 2-4 June

Indian President Pranab Mukherjee will pay a visit to Belarus on 2-4 June.

BelTA learnt it from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Belarus Manoj Kumar Bharti.

The Indian diplomat views the forthcoming visit as important and is confident that it will bring agreements that will move the two countries onto a higher level of mutual cooperation.

In April 2015 Belarus' Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei paid an official visit to India to hold talks with heads of big companies interested in cooperation with Belarus. Keeping in mind India's ambitious plans to develop the mining industry, agriculture and other areas the main focus of the talks was on the increasing of supplies of Belarusian large trucks, agricultural and automobile vehicles to India. The parties also talked over the creation of joint manufacturing facilities. Indian pharmaceutical companies were invited to expand their presence in Belarus in order to localize the production of medicines imported from India.
