Latvia spots Russian ship and submarine near its borders

A Russian warship and a submarine were spotted near the borders of Latvia on Wednesday, the National Armed Forces of Latvia reported has reported on Twitter.

"Armed Forces on 27 MAY in LV EEZ 5 nmi from territ. waters spotted RU Navy's Kilo-class submarine, and hydrographic survey ship GS-66," the report says.

As reported earlier, the warships and aircraft of the Russian Federation have been frequently spotted near the air and maritime borders of the Baltic States since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine.
