An emergent rally in the Minsk center: residents protesting against densification

More than 100 people gathered in the yard of famous "Minsk gates".

People emotionally discussed the future urban densification. At the end of last year they were at sea when learned that the plot of land behind the tower with a coat of arms was sold at an auction. Instead of garage cooperative and former nursery school a commercial real estate developer intends to build up luxury residential house. People have already gathered for several times. Architects believe that today the other side of "Minsk gates" has a sleazy view. An old garage cooperative and two-storey building (former nursery school and then guard station) have always attracted the attention of architects. Last winter OAO 10UNR (the only bidder for an open auction) got the right for development and construction.

People of different ages gathered together at 7 pm. Many of them burst in emotions and wanted to speak out.
