Trade Minister: Deliveries of imported goods should be cut down to the minimum

Deliveries of imported goods to Belarus should be cut ti the minimum, with the exception of critical import.

It was stated by trade Valyantsin Chekanau on May 4 at the meeting with chief executives of large retail chains and affiliated organisations of the ministry, BelaPAN informs.

Chekanau has also observed that issues of price formation, post-due indebtedness for goods are “under strict supervision” as before. As said by him, special attention should be paid to range of goods, layout of goods at shelves.

At the meeting Chekanau also set a task to trade directorates and services departments of regional executive committees and Minsk city executive committee to study demand in purchase of vehicles, manufactured by OAO MAZ, and forward this information to the ministry in order to promote further striking of contracts with the plant. The minster stressed that “today it is necessary to focus on domestic manufacturers when purchasing autos, in order to support them in the current situation and to help clean storehouses.”

Besides, he reminded that in May sale and services outlets are to work longer hours, in order to make it convenient for a client, according to wishes of any outlet. It is possible to work without days off and holidays, as it happened during the Ice Hockey championship in Minsk last year.
