Belarus does not agree to transit of gas via its gas system by Klaipėdos nafta company from a liquid natural gas terminal of the company to Ukraine.

“There is interest of our and Ukrainian sides, there are opportunities for cooperation, but we received a denial from the Belarusian side. We are going to use best endeavors so that we would be able to deliver liquified natural gas to Ukraine, which in its turn is looking for common ground with Belarus,” a spokesperson of Klaipėdos nafta Indrė Milinienė told BNS.

As said by her, about 1 billion cubic metres of gas could be supplied to Ukraine. Gas could be supplied from Klaipeda NGV to Belarus, and then an appropriate quantity – to Ukraine, DELFI.lt informs.

In Mid-April Lithuanian Minister of Energy Rokas Masiulis said that after Poland-Lithuania gas pipeline installation it would be possible to deliver gas to Ukraine as well.

The Ministry of Energy of Lithuania is elaborating amendments to the law on the natural gas transportation system, which would allow reselling the gas imported from Statoil still it is stil in the sea, not from the transportation system.
