Ministry of Labour: Official unemployment allowed within three years

Three years are the maximum period for official unemployment.

Maryianna Shchetkina, Minister of Labour and Social Protection, said it during online talk with Sovetskaya Belorussiya.

According to her, out-of-work benefits make up from 0.2 to 2 basic units (a basic unit - Br180 thousand).

Earlier, Shchetkina stated that out-of-work benefits would not be reconsidered. Despite a sharp increase of unemployment and the lowest out-of-work benefits. There are 5 000 unemployed in Minsk and they survived for Br187.5 thousand per month.

It should be reminded that because of economic situation, as well as Decree No. 3 on introduction of the tax on "parasitism", for the first time since 2007 the official unemployment has reached 1%. There are almost 70 000 registered unemployed.

Three years are the maximum period for official unemployment, Maryianna Shchetkina noted. - An important addition: during registration in the employment service the person must fulfill certain conditions. If it does not happen, he may be unregistered".

Recently the government has stated about amendments to Labour Code, under which it would be allowed to be officially unemployed within a year.
