Russia's Rosselkhoznadzor returns 20 tonnes of Turkish tomatoes to Belarus

Russia returned 19.8 tonnes of Turkish tomatoes to Belarus.

Charter97.org learnt it from the press service of Russia's agricultural watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor.

Traces of replaced labels were found during a check at a phytosanitary checkpoint in the Pskov region.

Besides, the package was not labelled with the single Eurasian conformity mark (EAC), which is mandatory for the Customs Union member states.

According to Rosselkhoznadzor, the EAC mark indicates that the products underwent all conformity assessment procedures established by the Customs Union's technical regulations and meet all requirements of the technical regulations applicable to the products.

Products are labelled with the EAC mark before the release to the market of the Customs Union.
