The demand of all members of the REP trade union to eliminate discrimination on the grounds of a trade union membership.

On June 1 the first session of the court in the case opened in Slonim on the appeal of the 6 concierges of the hostel of the Housing Repairs and Utilities Association in Slonim, who are members of the REP trade union. In their suit to the administration, in addition to the general demand to eliminate discrimination on the grounds of the trade union membership, several concrete issues are mentioned, praca-by.info was told by a trade union activist Mikhail Sashko.

First of all, women ask to overturn the decision on illegal, to their mind, relocation to other working positions, which happened after they joined the independent trade union. Secondly, concierges demand to make just duty schemes for them. As the things stand now, after a shift of 12 hours, they have a rest of less than 24 hours before the next shift, which contradicts the law.

Thirdly, receptionists attracted attention of the court to the fact that despite the decision of the Council of Ministers №109 on increase of the first rate’s base pay up to Br292,000 since March 1, re-calculation of their salaries had not been made. Fourthly, the women demand to pay indexation of salaries. On the initiative of the employer this paragraph had been excluded from the collective treaty, and the decision about that was registered at the district executive committee in April.

At the hearing of the court on June 1 representatives of the unitary enterprise “the Housing Repairs and Utilities Association of Slonim” refused to admit the claim, saying that they just followed instructions of the regional executive committee, which owns the enterprise.

As a result, the first hearing of the court lasted from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m. (with a recess), it is to continue on June 11.
