Tax Ministry announces “total” audits for market traders

Belarusian market vendors may face a wave of massive audits.

Charter97.org learnt it from the Ministry of Taxes.

“Tax bodies of the Republic of Belarus will carry out total control activities to check if economic agents working in the trade and services sector observe the rules of cash acceptance, use cash register equipment and if they installed POS terminals,” the ministry said in a statement.

According to the ministry, the number of violations of laws on cash acceptance, the use of cash register equipment and the installation and use of POS terminals for non-cash transactions has increased.

“It made the ministry to launch a large-scale campaign to reveal violations of payment rules. It's worth noting that the effectiveness and results of the campaign carried out by the tax bodies also depend on a civic position of every consumer and each citizen's level of tolerance to tax evasion,” the statement reads.

Bellegprom concern earlier proposed that the government initiate checks of market traders to control if their goods on sale comply with the lists of leftover goods. The Ministry of Taxes, in its turn, said no massive checks were planned after July 1, 2015.
