Canada introduces additional economic sanctions against Gazprom, Transneft

Canada has imposed additional economic sanctions against Russia and extended the sanctions list by 14 Russian legal entities and 3 individuals.

Russian news agency TASS reported it referring to a statement by Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

"These further sanctions are being taken in coordination with our partners," the prime minister said in his statement.

The additional sanctions were applied to Russian gas giant Gazprom, as well as Gazprom Neft, Surgutneftegaz and Transneft, as reported by the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to Russian Dozhd TV channel, the new sanctions were also imposed against the leaders of the Eurasian Youth Union Alexander Dugin, Pavel Kanishchev and Andrey Kovalenko.
