Mikhail Miasnikovich considers it necessary to charge VAT from parcels received from abroad.

He stated it today during the ninth session of the "Council of the Republic". BelTA reports.

"International postal items are growing fast, but Belpochta hardly makes a profit of it. Last year there were 6.5 postal items with goods received. And our post offices deal with it. This year there 5 million items have already been received. Besides, these parcels are not only for personal use, but entire consignments of goods are sold in markets and other places, he pointed out. - Transferring money in, for instance, China, a buyer is not subject to added value. When buying milk or bred in a store, we automatically pay the VAT. But buying things abroad, the VAT is missed".

According to the speaker, assessment value of a parcel generate doubts as well, it is formed to fall within regulatory approval system. "I guess, the issue will be resolved", he responded.
