Leaflets calling to “revive sacred Rus” distributed in Vitsebsk

Leaflets and newspapers containing pro-Russian propaganda were distributed in Vitsebsk on Independence Day on July 3.

Radio Svaboda learnt it from Anastsia Piliuhina.

According to the woman, she saw three persons handing out leaflets on the bank of the Dvina River.

One of the leaflets reads:

“The Creator chose the Russian people as the spiritual guide for the entire mankind. The Russian people will be the first to revive. Belarus and Ukraine for the Creator are indivisible Sacred Rus! Our people will lead the entire mankind of the planet.”

Anastasia Piliuhina asked the distributors on what grounds they were handing out the leaflets. They answered: “Because our president Aliaksandr Lukashenka supports us.”

The distributors rebuked the woman for wearing a traditional Belarusian embroidered blouse.

Anastasia Piliuhina talked to policemen. They promised to solve the problem, but the distributors had already left the site.

This is not the first case of promoting the “Russian world” in Belarus.

Russian flags were distributed in Minsk and big cities across Belarus, residents of Babruisk, Hrodna, Vitsebsk, Homel, Orsha, Polatsk and Baranavichy report. The flags are distributed by pro-Russian organisations working in Belarus.

Sellers of Russian flags were noticed in Navapolatsk on June 17 and 18. The police of Orsha detained sellers of flags in Orsha last week.

Belarusian authorities ignore most facts of distribution of symbols of the neighbouring state in Belarusian towns.
