After the accident a BMW driver stays in hospital

She is involved as a suspect in a criminal case.

The criminal case in connection with a road traffic accident, occurred on July 5 on a highway Orsha-Shklou-Mahileu, is being investigated.

It is found that about 9 pm a BMW driver - a woman - with 5 passengers drove in a contraflow lane and crashed into Mercedes Sprinter moving in the opposite direction. Mercedes was a part of an organized transport column accompanied by operational vehicles with activated blue and red rooftop lights. Investigative Committee informed charter97.org.

As a result, the driver and three passengers of Mercedes Sprinter were injured. Two of them are far gone after complex surgical operations. The BMW driver is hospitalized, but nothing threatens her life.

"The incident site examination showed that the crash occurred on the lane of Mercedes Sprinter, a trace scene proves it. In addition, the investigation has a tape of a video recorder, installed in Mercedes Sprinter. The tape is entered upon the record", the statement says.

Currently, all the circumstances of the incident are under investigation. Victims and eyewitnesses are being questioned.

"A 23 year-old resident of Shklou district is named as a suspect under Art. 317, para. 2 (Traffic offence, resulting in a reckless causing bodily harm) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus. It should be noted that the driving experience of the suspect was less than two years, she got a driving license in November 2013", the statement says.
