Dave Lewis signs contract with Team Belarus
Dave Lewis

Dave Lewis has signed a contract and will stay with the Belarusian national ice hockey team until the end of the Olympic cycle.

Chairman of the Belarusian Ice Hockey Federation Igor Rachkovsky told it a press conference on 13 August.

“The contract will be valid until 31 May 2018. The Belarusian Ice Hockey Federation has no doubts about the professionalism of this specialist. Dave Lewis did not focus the attention on the financial part of the contract during our first meeting. As the head of the federation I understood perfectly well that he would have many proposals after the 2015 IIHF World Championship in the Czech Republic. However, Dave Lewis made it clear that he would like to continue his work in Belarus. I can add that the terms of the new contract are better,” said Igor Rachkovsky.

There were no big changes in the coaching staff. Michael Lehner and Craig Woodcroft will continue working with the national team of Belarus. Dave Lewis will still be assisted by Oleg Antonenko and Andrei Mezin. The contracts with them were concluded earlier.

Alexander Zhurik signed a contract with a club in the Supreme Hockey League. Yuri Faikov will replace him on the national team. I have recently met with Yuri Faikov. He is a great professional and is a huge bundle of knowledge about hockey, Dave Lewis said.
