Israel approves visaless regime with Belarus

Visaless regime is expected to come into effect this year.

The government has approved visaless regime with Belarus, cursorinfo.co.il informs.

It should be recalled that authorities of the Republic of Belarus ratified the agreement on visa-free regime with Israel in January 2015. In Israel the government's counselor blocked it.

The bilateral agreement on visaless regime was signed in Minsk in September, 2014. It regulates issues related to the introduction of visa-free visit or stay not exceeding 90 days within 6 months from the date of first entry for citizens of Belarus and Israel who are the owners of valid national passports (except diplomatic and business).

The Knesset member Sofa Landver, Israel is Our Home Party, co-Chairperson of the Interparliamentary Friendship Association "Israel-Belarus", welcomed the adoption of a visa-free regime between the two countries.

Being Minister of Aliyah, Landver signed visa abolition agreement in last September.

"Despite Israel is Our Home Party is in opposition, we work effectively, defending interests of Israel and fulfilling obligations to our constituents. Visa abolition will contribute to development of bilateral relationships between Israel and Belarus. It is of great importance not only for the economy, but for close ties between two nations", Landver said.
