Crisis drags Belarusian industry into past

Production of combine harvesters has fallen fivefold, TV sets and machines – threefold and vehicles – by half in the first seven months of the year.

Sales problems provoke a decline in production volumes. The biggest fall is demonstrated by the plants that the Belarusian authorities has been caring about since Soviet times, Yezhednevnik reports.

Production of grain combines in January-July was only 17.7%, TV sets – 27%, metal working machines – 37.9%, vehicles – 40.8%, buses – 42.3%, off-road dump trucks – 44.5%, dump trucks for mining industry – 57%, tractors – 64.7% of production in the same period of 2014. Production of lingerie at Milavitsa factory fell almost by half (a rate of 50.6%).

The total volume of industrial production in mining industry, processing industry, power, gas and water production and distribution in January-July 2015 was 412.4 trillion rubles in current prices, and the industrial production index was 92% of the level of January-July 2014 , the National Statistics Committee of Belarus informs.
