Servicemen to receive tens of millions rubles for prolonging contracts

The bonus will be paid to the servicemen who prolong contracts for a period of several years.

Lukashenka singed decree No. 355 “On measures to encourage servicemen and employees of military organisations”. The documents says how servicemen will be financially encouraged to continue military service. For example, a serviceman or an employee of a military organisation will receive a one-time payment for signing a new contract or prolonging the old one. The amount of the payment depends the salary. The money must be returned to the state if the contract is terminated earlier.

Financial incentives will be paid to servicemen and employees of military organisations who have special ranks (expect for conscripts, military students, employees of interior agencies, the Investigation Committee, the State Forensic Committee, financial investigation agencies of the State Control Committee, emergency agencies and departments), kp.by reports.

To receive incentives, one must do military service under a contact, do military service for at least 5 years and sign a second or following contract or prolong the contract for a new period.

The amount of payment will depend on the period of the contract – 10 basic salaries for a period of from 3 to 5 years and 35 basic salaries for a period of more than 5 years.

The basic salary is 1.3 million rubles. So, a serviceman will receive a one-time payment of 13 million rubles if he prolongs his contract for at least 3 years and 45.5 million rubles if he prolongs the contract for more than 5 years.
