Dzianis Sadouski: Voter turnout won't exceed 30-35%

That's why no opposition members were included in election commissions.

The Minsk authorities didn't include opposition representatives in district election commissions. They showed that they want to fully control voter turnout at the “presidential elections”, Dzianis Sadouski, a coordinator of the observation campaign Right to Elect, said to BelaPAN.

The total number of district commissions in Minsk is 717. The United Civil Party proposed 62 persons, the BPF party proposed 44 persons and the Belarusian Social Democratic Party (Hramada) proposed 7 persons to the commissions. Nineteen persons were nominated by the BPF Revival NGO. None of the opposition members were included in commissions.

Sadouski thinks the authorities want to control Minsk as the most protest city. That's why opposition representatives were included in election commissions.

Sadouski added that the campaign Right to Election would propose the maximum number of observers in the capital to “reveal and make public the real voter turnout in Minsk”. According to him, turnout won't exceed 30-35%.

The observation campaign Right to Elect consists of representatives of the Belarusian Social democratic Party (Hramada), the organising committee to create Belarusian Christian Democracy party (BCD), Tell the Truth campaign, For Freedom movement, the BPF party, the Green Belarusian Party, the Independent Electronics Trade Union, the organising committee of the Freedom and Progress Party.
