Lukashenka: We have war-like situation in our economy

The dictator demands to reach the goals planned for the year 2015 in full.

He said so while listening to the report of Prime Minister Andrei Kabyakou, BelTA writes.

“My practical demands to the government are to finally reach the goals we had set for this year. I understand that there are hardships and difficulties. But consider that there is a war going in our economy, we have a martial law. And we should do everything to meet the targets amid these military economic conditions, we should resolve them this year,” Lukashenka noted. “By all means we must carry out these tasks,” Lukashenka noted. “These are earthly things, as people do not demand anything supernatural from us! They understand that for about 80 per cent we have plunged into this crisis period against our will, through no fault of us.”

“But we would have to overcome that, through exertion. There is no other way. We cannot wait till better times will come in the neighbouring countries, in our markets, you see how things are evolving. That is why we would have to break through to other markets, to compete there. It’s the task for everyone,” he said.

“I do not want to blame our government for that, but we have an established practice: when something goes wrong, it means that the president or the society are suggested to make some huge moves in the future, and not even the steps that should be made tomorrow (not to speak of today), but in some in the distant future. And when I get acquainted with such conceptual things offered for our country, I always think of who is going to implement everything we are deciding today,” Lukashenka said.

“Secondly, people are not going to live just tomorrow, though it is certainly very important, but people are living today. And we should guarantee everything necessary for people’s normal life. Frankly speaking, there is no need in this rhetoric. And I am not orientated to that,” he said.
