Heads of district executive committees in Rahachou and Chashniki detained

The Investigation Committee investigates criminal cases opened by the Prosecutor General's Office against officials for corruption.

It was revealed during the investigation that the head of the Chashniki district executive committee, acting for his own interests, was using his office from July 2011 to May 2015 to give orders to directors of companies and organisations of the Chashniki district to give him and his family material values and render services without pay, charter97.org learnt from the press service of the Investigation Committee.

The head of the Rahachou district executive committee, who worked as the first deputy head and head of the agricultural and food department of the Rahachou district executive committee in 2010-2013, gave orders, intentionally contrary to the interests of his position and with the aim to minimise spending on the construction of his private house, to directors of companies in the district to sell him material values at clearly understated prices and render services without full payment, which was performed by them in the mentioned period.

The officials were detained. They are charged with violating part 3 of article 424 of the Criminal Code of Belarus (abuse of power by an official).
