Pavel Siarhei: We Want To Make Revolution Of Consciousness In Belarus

The activist, beaten by the riot police at the trial of the ”graffiti artists”, admitted that he and his teammates want to awaken people from political hibernation.

“We belong to young people who care what's going on around us. Our movement is called “Poshuh” (and related to it “Ekalahіchny Poshuh”). We try to be active about all topical issues of our people. We all live a healthy lifestyle, all of us are vegetarians or vegans, and we are active in the field of ecology. We would like to make a revolution of consciousness, to awaken people from Belarusian torpor, for people not to be indifferent to what is happening around them,“ – Pavel Siarhei wrote in his article ”Revolution With Its Face Against The Floor,” published on Belarusian Partisan.

He told how the police had beaten the activists and the journalist, when they had been expelled from the courtroom.

“We were kicked for about twenty minutes, they were jumping and walking on us, constantly insulting. Dabravolski tried to get up and get out, to call someone for help, but he only was beaten severely. He had to bear more than anyone else,” – Pavel said.

He and his companion were fined large sums of money that would be difficult to repay.

“A fine of ten and a half million rubles is a significant amount of money for me, at the moment these are two of my industrial climber’s salaries. And Maxim Shytsik is unemployed, and I cannot imagine how he will pay the fine. We are from Maladzechna, which ranks first on unemployment,” – the activist admitted.
