Lawyer Tamara Siarhei Is To Be Revoked Driving Licence
TAMARA SIARHEI

Earlier, the court seized the apartment of “Against Lawlessness in the Courts and Prosecutor's Office” civil initiative’s leader.

Human rights defender Tamara Siarhei is supposed to be revoked her driving license via the courts. She informed Salidarnasts about that:

– My enforcement proceeding is sent to the Savietski district court to revoke my driving license.

We remind that in May the court of Tsentralny district of Minsk, represented by Judge Viktoryja Shabunia, fined Tamara Siarhei 40 basic units (840 rubles) for organizing and participating in picketing at Freedom Square on March 31.

Bailiff of the Savietski district enforcement department Nastassia Shkraba ordered to seize the human rights defender’s apartment to exact the penalty.

– In September and October money was already taken out of my pension to implement the executive document. And now they again want to impose penalty on me, although the execution is already happening, – Tamara Siarhei said.

According to the human rights defender, she is being put pressure on for the fact that she continues to support the initiative “Against Lawlessness in the Courts and Prosecutor's Office”:

– On September 29, we were again in Lukashenka's administration and demanded a meeting with the head of the department, who on that day carried out a personal reception of citizens. And this document is dated the 4th of October. That is, they immediately started to look for a way to clamp down on me, so we don’t bother them anymore.

The lawyer drew attention to the fact that such a measure (driving ban) is used when the penalized person has no permanent source of income to pay off the fine.

– I have this source. Then why is this measure? This is an obvious proof that I am being put psychological pressure on.
