Activists know that their demand to release the blogger is well heard in the courtroom.

Co-chairman of the organizing committee of the party Belarusian Christian Democracy Pavel Seviarynets, who is taking part in the rally in support of Eduard Palchys near the building of the Minsk City Court, has stated that to the website charter97.org.

– What are the general impressions of Eduard Palchys’ closed trial?

– The general impression is as follows: a man, who has been openly accused of a criminal offense, is being judged at a closed trial, although, in my opinion, we need to judge those, who accuse Eduard and keep him behind bars. Eduard Palchys is a patriot of Belarus, and the fact that he is charged with a criminal offense, points to the anti-Belarusian character of Lukashenka's regime.

– What do you think the verdict will be?

– As far as the regime needs the IMF loan, I think that the sentence will be suspended. But we should not forget that there is also the Russian factor. If special services of the Russian Federation benefit from keeping Eduard in prison, the regime will roll over for Russia.

– How long will the rally in Eduard Palchys’ support continue?

– The protest rally will continue up to the end of Palchys’ trial. We are determined to stay here as long as Eduard is judged. We will stand with white-red-white flags, chanting “Freedom To Palchys!” We know where the windows are in the courthouse, and we will shout our demands for them to be heard.
