Major General Dzenisenka: Exercises Of Troopers Near Brest - One Of The Largest

900 troopers from Belarus and Russia train the destruction of illegal formations near Brest.

The active phase of the Belarusian-Russian exercises of the 38th separate Guards Air Assault Brigade

from Brest and soldiers of the 98th Guards Airborne Division from Russia (Kostroma, Ivanovo, Yaroslavl regions) starts on October 18. After the opening ceremony of the exercises this Monday, the servicemen headed to overcome a water hazard. It is planned to train landing from helicopters and airplanes, including night landing, Vecherniy Brest writes.

A large number of military vehicles and personnel were concentrated at the Brestsky firing range on October 17. Paratroopers from the Russian Federation, who have arrived the day before, settled in tents together with the Belarusian colleagues. They say they feel good at temperatures close to zero. Indeed, as journalists have confirmed, it was warm and cozy in their temporary shelters.

Current drills are one of the largest in recent years.

– The geography of the Russian participants was deliberately extended, – the Commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Belarus Major General Vadzim Dzenisenka stressed in his interview with the journalists. – Moreover, these exercises are the final stage of joint trainings with the Airborne Forces of the Russian Federation. Our goal was to train joint actions in destruction of illegal armed formations, performed by mixed, joint units.

According to the Commander, apart from the exercises in Brest, military exercises in Ryazan are held now too, during which the troopers from Russia and Belarus, namely the 103rd separate Guards Airborne Brigade from Vitsebsk, train to fulfill exactly the same tasks.
