Minsk Plant Of Construction Materials Sent Employees To Their Homes

About 250 people were forced to go on unpaid vacations.

JSC Minsk plant of construction materials has faced a critical situation. The enterprise failed to pay for electricity and has announced a temporal standstill, belaruspartisan.org informs.

As a result, about 250 people were forced to go on unpaid vacations. An official trade union was forced to intervene, demanding that people should be paid at least 2/3 of their wage rate (salary). Of course, it's just a penny, because the “bare wage rate” at all enterprises is just a small part of people's earnings. But the plant could hardly find even such small amount of money.

Minsk plant of construction materials is an Open Joint Stock Company, which is managed by the Ministry of Architecture and Construction of Belarus.

The enterprise is engaged mainly in mass production of ceramic bricks, ceramic stones, agro-perlite and perlite-asbestos heat-resistant thermal insulation boards.

There were times when Minsk plant of construction materials was one of the leading construction materials producing enterprises in Belarus by volume of manufacture of ceramic bricks. But, alas, it was before the crisis, at the time of the construction boom.
