Kabiakou – Medvedev: “We Are Satisfied With Relations With Russia, But There Are Number Of Aspect”

The heads of the governments of Belarus and Russia discussed the economic relations between the two countries.

Andrei Kabiakou met Dmitry Medvedev after the session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Minsk on Thursday evening.

– Today, we have already held a large event on the Eurasian Union, and now we have an opportunity to hold a bilateral event, to talk about the current state of our relationships, the economic issues of the two states, to deal with the backlog of problems, – they do exist, – as well as to talk about our prospects, – and we do have them, – TASS quotes Medvedev’s words, addressed to Kabiakou.

The Russian Prime Minister also considered it necessary to map out plans for the future during the meeting, taking into account the current economic situation, BelaPAN reports.

In turn, Kabiakou noted that “there is a number of issues” to be discussed. The head of the Belarusian government pointed to the mutually beneficial relations of Russia and Belarus.

– Our countries have traditionally been developing mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation, but there are a number of accumulated issues, that require a certain participation at the Prime Minister level to be resolved,” – the Belarusian Prime Minister said.

The results of the negotiations are not yet known. It was assumed before the meeting, that there would be discussed the issue of transferring money for the Russian gas by the Belarusian side.
