Belarusian Warehouses Fall Apart At Seams

The stock of the industrial enterprises increased again in October.

According to BelaPAN, as of November 1 the share of stocks in the industry amounted to 68% of the monthly production and increased by 3.7 percentage points in October.

It should be noted that in the first half of 2016, the industry had a steady decline in stocks (their share of the monthly industrial production volume decreased from 74.3% as of February 1 to 64.7% as of July 1).

In the third quarter of 2016, the volume of stocks in the industry practically did not change and amounted to about 64% of the monthly industrial production volume.

A notable increase in stocks in October is associated with the increase in the volume of unsold products by enterprises that are under the jurisdiction of the Belgospischeprom concern. As of October 1, the stores of the Group companies accounted for 116.2% of the monthly industrial production volume, and as of 1 November, they accounted for than 160%.

Minsk and Minsk region, with their machine building enterprises, were the leaders in terms of unsold goods – as of November 1, the stocks exceed here the monthly industrial production volume.

The lowest level of unsold products was observed at the regions, where the refineries are located (in Homel and Vitsebsk regions the volume of stocks amounted to 31.5 and 39.8% of the monthly output).

It should be noted that the government brought to the notice of ministries and concerns various tasks for 2016, including regulations on stock level reduction. Heads of state administration bodies are held liable for failure to comply with those regulations.
