The permanent forger of Belarusian elections stated that she was "a person of the system."

In the first presidential elections of 1994 Lidzia Yarmoshyna didn't vote for the deputy of the Supreme Council Aliaksandr Lukashenka, she voted for Vyacheslau Kebich, who was a Prime Minister of Belarus at that time. The chairman of the Central Election Commission told that during an interview with BelaPAN.

"I am a person of the system, a representative of state power by my official position. Loyalty to the government is a prerequisite of work and existence of an official on its post. It's necessary. If you want to be disloyal, you are free – leave the state system. While you are in it, you must be loyal. This condition is necessary for existence of any state. Guided exactly by this principle I voted for Kebich in the presidential elections of 1994," – Yarmoshyna explained her choice.

For the same reason, during the referendum of November 24, 1996, Yarmoshyna gave her voice for introduction of amendments to the Constitution, suggested by Lukashenka , which had significantly expanded the list of presidential powers.

"Accumulation of power in the hands of a leader – this is one of the main conditions for stable development of a state. Particularly, if the state is in such a deplorable condition, in which Belarus was at that time, – Yarmoshyna is sure. – I was for ensuring that the country rose from the knees and became stronger. I was perfectly aware that that was only possible with one-man management, and very strong one-man management."

As for the Parliament, she is sure that "The Supreme Council of 12th convocation was a total disappointment as a body, incapable of anything except chatting." "Therefore, I believed that the country needed to strengthen the presidential power and to limit the power of the parliament. At least at that time," – Yarmoshyna added.

During the interview, Yarmoshyna was constantly emphasizing that her illegal appointment as the head of the Central Election Commission in 1996 took her by surprise, because she was "an ordinary provincial dweller."
