Belarusians Have No Money For Imported Goods

The import of goods and services decreased by 12% in January-October.

In January-October Belarus imported goods and services for $21,1 billion. In particular, according to the BelaPAN news agency, the import of goods amounted to $18,9 billion, services - $2,2 billion.

Compared with the same period last year, the payments for the import of goods decreased by 11,9% in dollar terms, for the import of services - by 12,9%.

Herein, in October, economic entities paid $ 2 billion for the import of goods, and $ 235,3 million for the import of services.

The volume of payments for the import affects the value of foreign exchange reserves, which should be in the country to neutralize the possible shocks in the economy. According to the recommendations of the International Monetary Fund, the reserves should amount to at least a three-months import.
