"Mayor" Shorets himself is to settle the fighting for their rights Sialhozpasiolak residents.

Residents of the private sector, called Sialhozpasiolak, will meet with chairman of the Minsk city executive committee Andrei Shorts on December 7, to discuss the prospects of building and demolition of the quarter, tut.by informs.

Public discussion of the development of the territory of the private sector within the boundaries of Niakrasau - Sobinau - Oleshau - Vastochnaya - Kamarouskae Kaltso streets has ended recently. And six months ago, the villagers had the project of the quarter’s development, according to which all private houses were to be demolished, to be sent to the adjustment. As a result, the architects reviewed their decision and in mid-December presented the revised draft to residents of the village. According to it, 614 private houses will be demolished, 281 house will remain.

The residents are unhappy with these changes, they consider that the draft should be returned for revision and the amended version should be discussed again. Therefore, the district activists sent to the administration of Savietski district 10 pages of comments on the draft. In addition, on Wednesday they will meet with the mayor to discuss the project, the fate of the village and violations in the process of conducting a public discussion.

According to the comments submitted to the executive committee, the villagers are not so much outraged by the demolition of the majority of houses, as they consider it’s necessary: to reduce the number of multifunctional and administrative complexes, to provide social facilities: gyms, swimming pools, sports grounds; to leave the squares alone, to build kindergartens, a highway of regional value across Melezh street up to Yakub Kolas street without reducing the park within the boundaries of Melezh - Yakub Kolas - Vastochnaya streets, to reserve appropriate areas for the construction of parking lots.

"The project does not correspond to current legislation, the General Plan of Minsk, does not consider the interests of citizens living on this territory, giving priority to major developers," – the locals say.
