Who Is To Pay For That?
MIKALAI ULASEVICH

This year many hundreds of hectares of not only corn, but also of root crops, apples went under the snow in Astravets district.

According to the Vileika prosecutor's office, local people are not driven to harvest corn. Most certainly, they are not driven in Astravets as well, but they are conscribed. And do people, who go to work at local agricultural enterprises, have a choice, if such is the case?

The answer is obvious, as well as the fact that many hundreds of hectares of not only corn, but also of root crops, apples went under the snow in Astravets district and not only there...

Who is responsible for that, and for a huge, more than a one-third incomplete harvest of bread in Astravets district!? It's clear that the people, who are far from being the main culprits, will have to account for that, someone, assigned by the prosecutor's office. And at the same time, the main culprits, as always, will be put forward for decorations and merit awards in the form of prizes, tributes and positions.

And there you have the first example, one of the main architects of the economic "renaissance" in Astravets district, including the nuclear one, former head of the district executive committee Kavalko happily and safely left the sinking "ark", where he had lazed as many as 16 years, and received a new assignment, moved to the capital to earn crust at the "parliament". Without a doubt, he found the bean in the cake. Perhaps, indeed some invisible heavenly forces removed him at a good hour from that sinister place, which today proves to be a direct path to jail, in gratitude for the fact that in olden times Kavalko had made a generous gift to the Orthodox temple in Astravets – an icon of the Holy Virgin ... Apparently, it was counted towards his recognition. But it does not necessarily mean it’s for the rest of his life.
