With No Previous Denominations Dollar to Cost Br220 Million

On February 10 the official dollar exchange rate reached Br22 069. It hits other all-time high.

There were two denominations in Belarus (10 time denomination in 1994 and 1000 time one in 2000s). If everything had stayed the same, dollar would have cost Br220 690 000, Belarusian News reports.

Belarus takes the leading position in the post-Soviet territory on the level of national currency depreciation against dollar (since 1991), it proves BelaPAN's analysis, carried out on February 10, of official currency exchange rates excluding monetary reforms.

The next four positions are taken by Turkmenistan - 8.750.000, Uzbekistan - 2.841.600, Ukraine — 2.594.454 and Georgia-2.485.800 respectively.

Then follows: Tajikistan — 783.980, Kazakhstan - 180.185, Armenia - 99.018, Russia-78.681, Azerbaijan -78.510, Moldova-20.079, Kyrgyzstan — 14.697.

The Baltic States are at the bottom of the list: Lithuania - 306.7, Estonia - 139, and Latvia - 124.9. Dollar exchange rate in the self-appointed Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, with its own currency, is 11.100.000 rubles without denomination.

Thus, Belarusian currency depreciated against the US dollar at 25.2 times more than the currency of Turkmenistan, 61.9 times of Uzbekistan, 88.8 times of Georgia, 85.1 times of Ukraine, 281.5 times of Tajikistan, 2.229 times of Armenia , 1.636 times of Kazakhstan, 2.805 times of Russia, 2.811 times of Azerbaijan, 10.991 times of Moldova, 15.016 times of Kyrgyzstan, 719.516 times of Lithuania, 1.587.812 times of Estonia and at 1.767.358 times more than currency of Latvia. In the case with Trans-Dniester, the ratio fixed at 19,9 times.

An official dollar exchange rate equaled to Br1 million (without denomination) on December 17 (1998), it made up Br5 million on May 12 (2000), Br10 million on September 12 (2000), Br15 million - on October 26 (2001), Br20 million - on April 3 (2003), Br30 million - on March 26 (2010), Br50 million - on July 13 (2011), Br100 million - on May 7 (2014), Br150 million - on January 15 (2015), Br160 million - on August 18 (2015), Br170 million - on August 25 (2015), Br180 million - on November 25 (2015), Br190 million - on January 12 (2016), Br200 million - on January 17 (2016), Br210 million - on January 22 (2016).

Another denomination will be taken on July 1, 2016 (1: 10 000).
