The Information Ministry intends to deliver new warnings to mass media.

Information Minister Lilia Ananich stated that being on air on Belarus 1 TV channel, tut. by reports.

Commenting on some utterances of prime-minister Natallia Kachanava on wages of young coaches, Ananich noted the profundity of the problem.

"The Internet that claims to be a media outlet has a tendency to find out an eye-catching phrase and then serve it with a special editorial sauce, the minister stated. She is content that the panel of the Sports Ministry discussed the development.

"And close reading, of course, must be the core topic of the issue. But if a journalist treats an issue with neglect and poor knowledge of it, and tries to replace it with eye-catching headline [...], then selective journalism appears. It is not professional, but destructive journalism," Ananich says.

The minister notes that "biased information implies warnings of the Information Ministry."

Meanwhile, she is convinced that "other mechanism should be in power as well." "There is professional ethics, and it makes no sense to follow every phrase," she said. But there is corporate attitude towards such journalism - "Today not only legislative levers must be practiced, but, of course, they will. It you are not a professional, then one should say "You are not professionals." But you can get more skills. It will be necessary to apply the law in case of a wish to bias the information."

Ananich told about her recent meeting with the head of the EU Delegation to Belarus Andrea Victorin. They discussed issues related to the Internet. "We talk one language, the minister assured. - Ms. Victorin also mentioned such combinations as state and public interests."

"The Internet has brought to the activity of journalistic community a great destructive component. As soon as such resources are used as a goal of reaching for political objectives or other ambitions, we have the situation similar to that in Ukraine," the head of the Information Ministry said.

Ananich urged to "consolidate legislative, professional, ethical, journalism efforts." "Information space of Belarus will never be able to be an arena with bursting passions and destructive processes. We do everything possible," she stated.
