The Belarusian dictator has given a positive opinion about the anti-corruption efforts of the State Security Committee (KGB).

This statement was made by him on February 8, as he heard out a report from KGB Chairman Valery Vakulchyk (Vakulchik), the press-service of the ruler reports.

As said by Lukashenka, it is good that the Committee has managed to shift the focus to economic issues, as this area of work is extremely important for Belarus at present. “Other power-wielding agencies are far behind the KGB in this regard,” – he noted.

At the same time, the head of the state underlined that intelligence and counter-intelligence services, the protection of the constitutional order are the top priorities for the KGB. “Nothing threatens Belarus' statehood and security at the moment, nonetheless, the president intends to keep the matter under control,” – the report of the press-service emphasized.

Vakulchyk gave a status report, as well as informed about the results of the year 2015. The KGB Chairman noted that the measures they had taken had allowed securing results not only in intelligence and counter-intelligence efforts but also in the protection of economic security and in war on corruption, – the press-service informs. – The KGB manages to uncover system problems in various branches of the economy and specific sectors, sees reserves for better economic performance in this or that area.”
