Conscript Soldier Died At Starye Darohi Military Base

The charter97.org website was informed of the death of conscript soldier at Starye Darohi military base. According to the reader familiar with the soldier's parents, he died on April 10.

“According to the parents of the deceased, their son phoned them on Sunday, April 10, at 19:30, and at 21:15 they received a call from the military base, informing of their son's death,” – the source told the website charter97.org.

“It was evident at the identification, that the body was covered with bruises, the skull had been fractured with a blunt object. The parents were told that eight investigators were involved in the probe, but I have not seen any pieces of news on this incident,” – the reader said.

According to the source, the deceased's name was Aliaksandr Ankud.

The Belarusian Ministry of Defence does not comment on the circumstances of the conscript soldier’s death in Starye Darohi, as it is not related to his service. This was stated by Head of Ideological Work Department of the Defense Ministry Colonel Uladzimir Makarau, BelaPAN reports.

“Given that the soldier’s suicidal behavior motives are not related to military service, the Ministry of Defence does not comment on this fact for ethical reasons,” – Uladzimir Makarau said.

Aliaksandr was drafted from Maladzechna last fall. He served in the troops of radiation, chemical and biological protection in Starye Darohi. The funeral was hold yesterday.
