Dictator To Businessmen: “Oh, Someone Got Arrested! Tomorrow They Come After Others”

Lukashenka threatens businessmen with more arrests.

“If someone wants to do business to their own benefit only and in a way that is right in their own sight without considering our legislation and our laws, then Belarus is not the place for you to work”, – Lukashenka said in his usual message.

“The main thing is to pay the taxes, – Lukashenka stressed. – You may either sleep a peaceful dream, or you may not sleep at all - it’s your right to choose. But you must give to the state what you must give, as is done everywhere in the world”.

“Oh, someone was detained, arrested. Tomorrow they will come after others. Sure they will come, if you continue to work like this, if you continue to rob the state and avoid paying taxes”, – the dictator said, Interfax reports. He noted that “quite a few businessmen don’t sour on anything, they’ve registered their business and are working, and working honestly”.

The ruler also claimed that all the businessmen that were detained in Belarus were arrested because they didn’t pay the taxes. “Show me at least one fact, except for the tax evasion, which caused detention of at least one businessman”, – he noted.

“You should thank the God that you’re not living in the USA”, – Lukashenka added when addressing the business community.

“We have the right to require strict observance of the law, paying the taxes and quitting shadow business schemes”, – he stressed.
