BPF Party Calling For Control On Border With Russia

There is uncontrolled drug trafficking, arms trafficking and trafficking in human beings in our country due to the open border with Russia.

Members of the BPF Party sent an appeal to the “parliament” on the introduction of control on the state border with Russia. The appeal was sent by party members from different regions of the country. Chairman of the Hrodna BPF Party Council Vadzim Saranchukou sent the appeal to “deputy” Vasil Mikhno, Radio Racyja reports.

According to Vadzim Saranchukou, there is now a national scale threat due to the fact that there are virtually no borders:

– The open border with the Russian Federation is a big threat to the national interests and security of Belarus. Uncontrolled drug trafficking, arms trafficking and trafficking in human beings is carried out through it. That poses an imminent threat to our country. From 2012 to 2015 the number of crimes related to drugs increased in 2 times. For example, Interior Minister Shunevich directly emphasizes that weapons and drugs are mainly delivered from the Russian Federation.

What has been done by “the house of representatives” to prevent the importation of drugs and weapons on the territory of Belarus from Russia? This is the main question of the appeal. Now Vadzim Saranchukou is waiting for a written response from “the house of representatives” and from Hrodna “deputy” Vasil Mikhno, in particular.
