In the end, Kastus Zhukouski has to pay the state Br 8,4 million.

Homel regional court supported freelance journalist Kastus Zhukouski who claimed the resolution of Kirau district court judge Valiantsina Saponava. In the end, judge Vasil Biahun lowered the fine for Kastus Zhukouski twice – from Br 16,8 million to Br 8,4 million.

According to the information provided by “Homel Spring” website, the regional court judge corrected his district colleague. In Zhlobin court, Zhukouski was sentenced under the rule of aggregate offences, while the law prescribes to apply the rule of their replication. Homel human rights defender Leanid Sudalenka claims that the regional judge corrected the mistake made by the district judge.

Let us remind, freelance journalist Kastus Zhukouski has paid the state Br 77 million of fines by March 17, 2016.
