Milkmaids From Slonim Region Prepare To Strike

Slonimsky agricultural enterprise “Pobeditel” hasn’t been paying wages to its employees for three months already.

Milkmaids and workers of the Republican Agricultural Unitary Ent. Pobeditel in Slonim region haven’t had their salaries for the last three months. According to the villagers, they are unable to pay their utility bills and the penalty fine is growing every day. Teachers are paying their own money for the pupils when needed, vendors at shops don’t accept promissory notes because the size of debt is too high already, Radio Racyja informs.

“We have already got stomach ache from potatoes. We cannot go and help our children who study in other cities because we have no money. The enterprise owes Br 6-10 million to each worker”, – the workers of the Republican Agricultural Unitary Ent. Pobeditel tell with tears in their eyes.

The workers of the enterprise promised to go on strike if they are not paid before the Orthodox Easter. They simply have no money to celebrate the Easter. All the villagers have no money.

Acting head of Pobeditel Mikalai Hrachyshnikau said that there was not enough money to pay wages, since they had to pay off various loans and debts.

“If the government paid off all our debts, we would repay wages on time. Otherways, there are problems with finances,” – the head of management said.

There have been arrears of wages for several months at other agricultural enterprises of Slonim district.
