Woman Died In Maladzechna Maternity Clinic After Delivery

This is the second case of absolutely healthy women’s death at giving birth in Maladzechna for six months.

On April 5, a woman, born in 1988, died immediately after giving birth in a hospital in Maladzechna at about three o'clock in the morning, the website kraj.by informs.

Prosecutor of Maladzechna district Uladzimir Dubouski confirmed the new mother’s death.

“Today, I can only state the fact: yes, indeed, there was such a case in a Maladzechna hospital. I believe it’s too early to give any assessment of the accident. I can only assure you that the police are to pay careful attention to this tragedy. Unfortunately, people do die in health institutions. But this case is not common, so after the necessary checks, we will give the legal assessment of the situation,” – the prosecutor said.

The husband of the deceased woman said that the examination is to be carried out in Minsk, it takes a month. The results are to be passed to the Maladzechna Investigative Committee, Regional Newspaper reports.

– We have been assured, that the examination will be conducted carefully. Then the actions will be taken. We will do everything in power to find the truth and justice. And if the guilty are determined, then we will do everything for them to be punished, and for such terrible things never to happen in our town. A maternity hospital is a place where happiness and miracle are born, it’s not a place of pain and loss, – the man said.

Also, according to friends of the family, the woman was alive after the delivery, she died a few hours later, presumably after the administration of some medicine, tut.by reports.

The newborn child is healthy.

It is not the first time new mothers die in Maladzechna. As the website charter97.org previously reported, an absolutely healthy woman, aged 23, died there in October last year.
