“National Flag Avenue” Rally On Kastrychnitskaya Square In Minsk

Several dozens of opposition activists gathered in Minsk center with national white-red-white flags.

The campaign under the motto “National Flag Avenue” was organized by the Young Front on the anniversary of the illegal referendum on changing the state symbols.

Opposition leader Mikalai Statkevich, leader of the Young Front Zmitser Dashkevich, former political prisoner Mikalai Autukhovich, civil activists of the European Belarus campaign Maxim Viniarski, Leanid Kulakou and others took part in the rally.

The Minsk police senior staff were watching the protesters. Protocols were drawn up against some of the participants.

According to the BHC observers, the protocols against the rally participants were of two kinds: under the Article 23.4 (disobedience to the police), and the Article 23.34 (an unauthorized mass event) of the Administrative Offences Code.
