Andrei Sannikov’s Book Presented At International Book Fair In Warsaw

A pavilion “Books Of Belarus” was opened on the 7th Warsaw International Book Fair.

This is a Swedish literary project under the direction of Mary Soderberg, which popularize books by Belarusian authors.

Andrei Sannikov’s book “Belarusian Amerikanka or Elections Under Dictatorship” was presented on the opening day of the exhibition.

Swedish Ambassador to Poland Inga Eriksson Fogh introduced the author. The diplomat noted that this year we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the adoption of Sweden and Finland Freedom of the Press Act and stressed that the Swedish government has always defended the freedom of expression around the world and, in particular, in Belarus.

Andrei Sannikov told the story of the appearance of his book:

“” Belarusian Americanka ... “ is a book about a very bright period in the life of Belarus, which includes prison as well, but the most important thing there is the solidarity of Belarusians and the international community in our country,” – the politician said.

The former presidential candidate answered the audience’s questions. In particular, the readers wondered how justified it was to lift Western sanctions against the Lukashenka’s regime. Sannikov said that it was absolutely unjustified, because the regime’s crimes had not been investigated, in fact, discharge of criminals had taken place.

A meeting with Andrei Sannikov will be held again on Saturday, May 21, at 15-30 (Aleja Józefa Poniatowskiego 1, Stadion Narodowy, Pavilion 24H).

It will be possible to ask questions, buy a book and get an autograph from the author at the meeting.
