The Netherlands will build its policy towards Belarus basing on values.

"The Netherlands has always been building its policy towards Belarus basing on values. And we don’t intend to change this approach in the future ", – stated the Prime Minister of Holland Mark Rutte to the leader of the United Civil Party Anatol Lyabedzka, reports web-site ucpb.org.

The meeting was held during the Congress of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy. The UCP leader underlined that “the key to changes in Belarus is fair, free elections that meet the OSCE standards. If the new European strategy is based on this approach, we all will succeed. If everything comes down to the appointment of a number of controlled "oppositionists" in the pseudo-parliament, the situation will be conserved.”

The Prime Minister of the Netherlands noted: “Our strategic ally in Belarus – people believing in democracy and freedom.” He promised Anatol Lyabedzka that he would read the book, which the politician wrote while he was kept in the KGB jail.

Not only politicians participated in the events of the Congress of the People's Party, but also experts in various fields and representatives of civil society.
