Officials: Medicine Should Contribute To Economy

The health system is urged to be more economical.

Belarus’ health system has the potential to participate effectively in economic development through prudent spending.

The health department head of the Vitsebsk Region Executive Committee Yury Derkach expressed such an opinion to BelTA.

“The economy, including the health care sector, is the most important aspect at the current All-Belarusian People's Assembly: how to get the maximum effect out of each invested ruble, – Yury Derkach said. – We have been actively working on that for the last six years. Health structure optimization is fully secured in Vitsebsk region... We have removed everything, that didn’t work and are not wasting money.”
