The appearance of Lukashenka and his youngest son wearing embroidered T-shirts with the national ornament has caused a wave of discussions.

On the one hand, it seems cool that the country leader wears Mark Formelle instead of Nike in crisis. On the other hand, here comes the logical question - who paid for the new outfits?

Head of the marketing department at Mark Formelle Sviatlana Klimovich has confessed to tut.by on the following:

— We have elaborated a new embroidered shirt design, with more bachelor’s buttons, for them. The President’s administration placed such order: trousers, shorts, T-shirts, suits, black and white socks with embroidered shirts.

Just imagine – a special person works in the president’s (!) administration (!), whose professional duties include ordering T-shirts for the president and his son Kolia! And this is happening in the country, the authorities of which are fighting social parasitism and have just reported optimization of the state apparatus.

The website of the state leader enlists the tasks of the president’s administration, and there is nothing like purchasing clothes for the president and his son. Maybe I am mistaken and this is regarded as “ organizational, informational-analytical and legal provision of the president’s activity”. To buy an embroidered shirt so that the president and his son could take a ride on a tractor – this looks like organization of a serious event!

Besides, this is not the only case of making special orders for Lukashenka. Previously, it was informed that “Minsk-Crystal” enterprise bottled alcoholic beverages (from appetizers to cocktails, rum, sake, whiskey and vodka) under the trademark “President”. The enterprise’s employees confirmed it was done only for him.

I wonder, whether it is one and the same employee of the president’s administration who orders alcohol and embroidered T-shirts, or do they work in different departments? It would be more exciting to know what was the price of the president’s new outfit design and who paid for the new image of our peace-maker, than to see Lukashenka in a new shirt, even if there was a “Pahonia” coat-of-arms on it.

Volha Slutskaya, Solidarity
